NAPLES, Fla. (April 12, 2008) - Naples Originals, an association of independent locally owned restaurants, is holding a poster art contest open to all middle school and high school students who are current residents of Collier County.

The theme is: "be independent. eat local." All poster art entries should be 11 inches wide x 17 inches high and may be in any two-dimensional media. All Artwork must be original.

Entries will be judged by a group of local professional graphic artists. Monetary awards of $150, $75, $50 will be given to the top three winners which may be used for art classes and art supplies. In addition, the overall winner’s art will be used in the 2008 Restaurant Week posters and collateral materials.

Submission deadline is May 27, 2008. Student artists must digitally photograph their original artwork in order to enter it in the contest. All poster contest entries should be sent via email to: poster@naplesoriginals.com, along with the artist’s contact information, in a high resolution PDF or JPG format.
